OUR MISSION:
Carne Viva Dance Theatre is committed to culture as liberation, and our bodies as an act of rebellion. We are devoted to making work for the community of queer and trans BIPOC. Aiming to connect, educate, and empower our community.

CARNE VIVA is a collective of raw radical movers, activists, and teaching artists based in Philadelphia, PA (Lenape Land) and travels through the city of Miami,FL. We create playful, erotic, and intimate works for the community of queer BIPOC and address the issues of society through our work. Our work and process as artists and humans is to decolonize the body and to decolonize dance. We incorporate Afro-Cuban movement into our modern and improvisational practices. Our mission is to create social change and spark conversation throughout the country. Queerness, latinidad, otherness, community, cultura, rebellion, and moving to dismantle the outdated policing of our bodies. Our collaborators are made up from all over the world, as we say we are " de aqui, y de alla" meaning  from here, and from there, and this work is for everyone near and far.
